J.M. Rasinske
J. M. Rasinske writes historical science fiction that blends deep research with a strong sense of imagination. His debut novel, A Forest of Giant Oaks, Volume 1: Independence, begins a trilogy shaped by the ideas found in the nation’s founding documents. Each book explores a different moment in American history through characters who cross time and collide with the people who shaped the early United States.
John earned his English degree with a writing emphasis from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, along with a teaching certificate and a minor in music. He taught British Literature for several years before moving into a long career in information technology. During that time he raised four children, built a life with his wife of more than thirty years, and kept the dream of writing alive.
In 2010 he read Walter Mosley’s This Year You Write Your Novel, and it pushed him to finally begin the story he had carried for decades. Publishing under his imprint, H-Vegas Publishing, he writes as J. M. Rasinske because the name reflects the unique stories he wants to tell.
He is now focused on spending the next fifty years doing the work he was meant to do. Writing novels that challenge, entertain, and endure.
